Homemade Chili

This recipe is one of my favorites to make when it is cold outside. It just warms you up quickly and it is easy to make plus it makes a ton, which means we have leftovers that can be frozen and used later (#mealprep). If you make this recipe and love it as much as I do, please tag us on instagram!

Homemade Chili

Prep time: 15 minutes

Total time: 15 minutes + 35 minutes = 50 minutes


Ground beef | 1 pound

Kidney beans (low sodium) | 1 can

Crushed tomatoes | 1 can

Onion | 1 med. (chopped)

Garlic | 6 cloves

Red bell pepper | 1 (finely chopped)

Chili powder | 4 tbsp

Cumin | 2 tsp

Paprika | 1 tsp

Oregano | 1 tsp

Red pepper flakes | 2 tsp (optional)

Salt & Pepper | to taste


  1. Sauté chopped onion, red bell pepper, and minced garlic for about 5 minutes.

  2. Add spices and ground beef. Let meat cook through.

  3. Add crushed tomatoes and beans. Let simmer for about 25 -35 minutes.

  4. Serve!

This can be served over rice or eaten alone.
