Current Favorite Breakfast (Avocado Toast)
If you follow me on social media (instagram), you know that one of my biggest obsession is a good avocado toast. I tried an avocado toast a few years back and have been obsessed ever since. I find it to be so filling and such a nutrient dense breakfast or even snack. It is also super easy to make.
Here’s how to make an Avocado Toast;
1 small avocado
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (Optional)
Salt to taste
1 slice whole grain bread
Mash the avocado and squeeze the lime in it. This will prevent the avocado from browning. Add the red pepper flakes and the salt and mix well. Place in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes or while the egg cooks.
-Cook the egg to your preference, I like to have avocado toasts with sunny side up eggs.
-Spread the avocado mixture on the toasted bread, place the egg on top, and I like to top it off with some Everything But The Bagel seasoning from Trader Joe’s.
This is so easy it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.
Also, keep in mind that avocado toasts are high in fat (monounsaturated fat, the healthy kind!) and should be eaten in moderation. Adding an egg adds up to the total fat content. That’s the main reason why I don’t eat it everyday.
Have you tried avocado toasts? If you have, let me know how you like them in the comments so I can try different one (although I really like this version. Lol)
